Women’s ADHD

ADHD in women is one of the most underdiagnosed and misunderstood conditions in mental health today. For decades, ADHD research focused predominantly on boys and men, leaving millions of women and girls undiagnosed or misdiagnosed with anxiety, depression, or personality disorders. Women with ADHD often present differently — with more inattentive symptoms, emotional dysregulation, internalized coping mechanisms, and a lifetime of masking that leads to exhaustion and self-doubt. Many women receive their ADHD diagnosis in adulthood, often after a child is diagnosed or after a major life transition triggers a collapse of their carefully managed systems. At Vidah Plena, we provide clear, compassionate, and clinically informed content to help women recognize ADHD in themselves, understand how hormones influence ADHD symptoms throughout the menstrual cycle and into perimenopause, and navigate diagnosis, treatment, and daily life with greater confidence and self-compassion. You are not lazy, scattered, or broken — you may simply have ADHD.
